Review: The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter

Forced to his knees in agony whenever he speaks the truth, Gideon can recognize any lie—until he captures Scarlet, a demon-possessed immortal who claims to be his long-lost wife. He doesn’t remember the beautiful female, much less wedding — or bedding — her. But he wants to... almost as much as he wants her.

But Scarlet is keeper of Nightmares, too dangerous to roam free, and a future with her could mean ultimate ruin. Especially as Gideon’s enemies draw closer... and the truth threatens to destroy all he’s come to love...

  My Review
So the six book on the Lord Of The Underworld series, is what we called a true pain in the ass, LoL. For real, you get a little irritated with the Gideon talk, but still it was a good book, a really good book. Maybe not at all different, is still the Lord meats Girl and they fall in love and a mess burst to try to keep them apart. But the mess in this book is just wow.

So in The Darkest Passion we got to learn about Gideon "wife" or at least that's what we were told. In this book, Gideon, the host of the Lord of Lies, couldn't restrain himself no more. So we accompany him in the journey of finding out if Scarlet, the host of the demon Lord, Nightmares, is really his wife, and if she is why in hell he doesn't remember any of their time together.

I have to be honest the way Showalter created this story was unbelievable for me, to be honest it was a really tragic story, and with each page it became more tragic and you didn't see how this was suppose to have a happy ending. But even when it was tragic, and the main plot of the story was even sad, Showalter manage to make me laugh with every turn of events.

The way Gideon fight with himself, and desire Scarlet could understand every time he told her a lie was sad but funny, at least for me it was. And how Scarlet with her messed up past years, and her hatred for everyone who was suppose to love her, was capable of all she did. I mean really it was just wow.

We even found out some secrets about the Lords, we didn't even know. And some of the Titans that just lets your jaw hanging open. This book had 2 things that were driving me insane (but in a good way) and that were first for me in this series, and that was that I didn't imagine not even for a minute the true ending, and that I really was nervous as hell thinking they might not make it (ooops! I think that was a spoiler... Sorry!). But still it was worth it.

Again, I loveeeeee the way Showalter keeps you on whats happening with all the lords even when they aren't part of the main couple. It's what keep my engine running and waiting to know moreeee of this Lords!!!
