Esbats: Wolf Moon - January

Wolf Moon, the moon in deepest of Winter. In earlier times a time when the wolf came close to the villages to seek food. A storm is said to rage most fiercely just before it ends, and the year usually follows suit. It is the Moon of Inception & Beginning.

The Moon of January is known as Wolf Moon, is also called Quiet Moon, Snow Moon, Cold Moon, ChasteMoon, Disting Moon, and Moon of Little Winter. 

At the heart of January, the days are gray and the nights are long and often cold.

The celebration of this esbat is a way to ward off the cold once again and shadows. The Sun King is born and the moon moves with the energy that surrounds the whole earth.

The Wolf Moon crosses the southern sky. The purity of white light shines on the snow-covered fields on the bare fields and on the slowly moving water, hidden under a thick layer of ice. The winter world well knows how to keep their secrets, but the Wolf Moon knows them all. This stillness has nothing to do with death but with the dream, through which the world is renewed waiting to spring. The Wolf Moon lie knows where each and every one of these secret seeds. This is your wisdom.
 

This moon is to protect your own and make sure they don’t go without. Think of others and ask if they need help. Try to mend rifts with those who you know you should be talking to. 

The January moon, is located in Capricorn. Its indicated healings are healing of the teeth, skin, bones and knees. Astrological correspondence are increases awareness of the need for structure, discipline. 

Wolf Moon Ritual: 
Take a paper and write down the goals you want to achieve, remember to be as clear as possible. Once written, meditate on them and sealed the paper, keeping it in your wardrobe, of the clothes you usually wear until the Wolf Moon next year.
